Scent & Taste: Black Coffee

With the burgeoning impact and reach of social media within Verdan in the past couple of years, some have taken it upon themselves to strike while the iron's hot for the chance to make it big. One such user known as Sangreal, both in branding and in name (though the latter is also likely due to the aforementioned branding), has spent these past few years building his online presence as a multi-instrumentalist to.. a mixed reception. While covers of existing works have been kinder to the algorithm, he does also post original compositions to both mootube and any streaming service that's listening. Primarily a metal artist though he does dabble, he's most well known for his quick fingers on guitar and the deep honeyed timbre of his voice.

Outside of the online sphere, however, the real means he makes his money is due to his work at the Dreamery Creamery. Sangreal doesn't pretend he has any competence with making ice cream, though he can make a damned fine latte, and is a much needed hand on deck as a server to shoulder some of the work the owner would otherwise be putting on herself. He's childhood friends with Pepper, and lives above the creamery much as she does. As foodstuff can't exactly be stored in the basement of the establishment, he's also worked out a deal with her to retrofit it as his own impromptu recording studio, which works out well enough for the time being.

Generally extroverted and incessantly friendly, he's the kind of guy with a naturally loud voice and a natural sense of charisma and charm. However, his ego is as large as it is fragile, and he's the type who goes from puffing his chest out to second guessing himself and spiraling over one little criticism. He's not the type to get twisted over matters of his interests or how he presents himself so much, but he harbors a very real anxiety over letting people down and worrying his creative pursuits are inevitably going to go nowhere. He also just,, really doesn't know how to recover if he whiffs it socially like. At all. He's an impressive house of cards sure but when it falls there's just cards all over the floor.

Outside of music, he's definitely a huge dweeb in other aspects, very into dark fantasy media. An unabashed fan of tabletop games, he hosts them weekly at the creamery after hours where he serves as a pretty good if not very dramatic game master. One pretty swiftly gets the impression of Sangreal that he was definitely a theater kid in his youth.

His voice claim is Marco Benevento of The Foreshadowing. Additionally, he tends to enunciate 'S' sounds a little hissy due to his outwardly turned fangs being slightly obstructive.
