Pheromoos are the dominant species in Verdan, populating the towns and cities. They are anthropomorphic, standing on two hoofed legs, and have a soft layer of fur covering their entire body. Their most interesting feature is their ability to lactate throughout most of their adult life. Moos begin lactation when they go through puberty. This typically happens when the Moo is 18-20. Once they start producing milk they need to be milked at least every other day (some daily) or their breasts will start to become sore and bloated until it overflows and leaks. Moos can produce anywhere from 1-5 cups of milk a day depending on the size of the breasts, their diet, and genetics. Their milk is rich in nutrients and can take on a variety of flavors, making it a very popular beverage. Along with milk, they give off a pheromone that has an aphrodisiac quality to it. Each Pheromoo has a specific scent and flavor to them that correlate to each other. Different Pheromoos can have the same/similar scents and flavors (ex: strawberry milk).
Gender
Pheromoos of every gender have breasts that lactate. Whether they are completely flat, plump and round, or thick and muscular are dependent on genetics and chance over genitals. This has produced a very gender-fluid society where each Pheromoo chooses if they wish to go by feminine, masculine, or non-binary pronouns. There is no homophobia or transphobia in the universe, and top surgery is as easily accessible as getting breast augmentation would be.
