Scent & Taste: Neapolitan Ice Cream

Pepper is the owner of the Dreamery Creamery, an independently run ice cream shoppe in Bovine Bluffs. The sorta kitschy parlor has become a niche hangout spot for any would-be college student or internet cafe regulars due to its free wifi and cozy interior, and the menu has expanded over the years to include coffee and as such affogato to the roster though the main draw remains the ice cream itself. Normal seating is interspersed with comfy couches and coffee tables, local art darts the walls and independent mix tapes sit at a kiosk by the register, and free roaming minimoo dot the shop as if it were a cat cafe environment. Additionally, due to the small batch cold stone style adopted by the shoppe, customers can request and supply their own milk to be creamed at a price.

The owner herself lives in an apartment above the business, located in the more downtown indie side of town. While very kind and friendly, the girl is notably mousy, with a soft voice hardly above a whisper. She generally remains behind the counter or in the back during work hours, but goes out of her way to remember regulars and their orders, as well as going to the trouble of forging bonds via small talk and remembering aspects of their lives. She's a bit of an artsy alt girl, and though she isn't an artist herself she loves talking about music or film and tends to open up much more readily to the indie crowd.

Though generally more of an introvert, she can sometimes be seen at concert venues and always makes an effort to show up at local art walks, often to form connections with visual artists so she can host their work at the creamery to both help with sales and keep a rotating aesthetic with the shop's interior. Consistently changing things up, Pepper's the type who can't stand to grow complacent with her craft or business, and is always trying out new flavors or seasonal gimmicks that may or may not work by the means of her own whims. The basics are a constant, sure, but those who come back often do so to see what's changed or the new thing that's available this month or what's back to the rotation.

Fond of collabing and experimentation, she's no stranger to reaching out to bakers or other small business owners in the area, and if they can put up with her often scatterbrained ideas out of fear of becoming a 'boring mom and pop shop' she's otherwise easy to work with. She is clearly passionate about what she does, though can be a bit too ambitious, and worries of her stretching herself too thin and losing the forest for the trees are valid ones. The manic pixie dream job ideation is real and only a little brain rotting.
