Trickster’s Guile
Spring
Trickster’s Guile is a festival that takes place during the second month of Spring in Verdan. There’s plenty of superstition about this festival and it’s hard to differentiate between fact and fiction at this point. This is especially true for the origins of the holiday. Some sources say the holiday started because the trickster god, Jack, was born on the 1st of this month. Others say he was born in fall but that he celebrates in Spring to be closer to his mother, Goddess Cybele. Still other sources claim this entire celebration is nothing more than a whim of the trickster, God Jack himself.
Though the reasoning behind celebrations is also unclear, the celebrations themselves are widely agreed upon. It’s a month full of pranks, jests, and trickery. Superstition around Bovine Bluffs is especially strong when it comes to this holiday. The locals say if you don’t pull a few pranks here and there on your friends, the trickster god himself will haunt you for half of the year. Rather than find out just what Jack’s wrath looks like, the locals resign themselves to the celebration. Most enjoy it and have fun during the prank wars they start with their friends, but of course there are always Pheromoos who would prefer not to participate. Will your moo have fun with the holiday or risk a haunting?
