Brawl Watch | Beach Episode!
Before leaving the resort, Hamish stopped by the spa the resort had. He needed help thinning the thick hair on him to prevent heat stroke while on the beach. The staff were more than happy to help, especially with the tip afterwards. Tail swaying with his beach chair on his back, umbrella strapped onto it, and small cooler with his lunch, drink, and some aloe in case some poor Moo needed immediate relief from the sun. His normal glasses were swapped out for a prescription pair of sunglasses as he walked out of the cool hotel.
He checked his phone to see his Mini Moo, Rory, sleeping peacefully among the pile of other ones at the pet sitter back in Bovine Bluffs. Satisfied his little buddy was good, he turned his phone off and zipped it into a sand/ water-proof pouch and trekked down to the beach. There was a little pathway that offered easy access to it. But seeing how he had overslept, some of the prime spots were probably taken. That was fine with him, he had got some needed sleep and a nice little rub down while the staff clipped his fur shorter to enjoy the sea breeze.
Scars were evident from his younger days since he was wearing some swim trunks that were black with dark green monstera leaves on them. He never heard of the plant, but the sales Moo said they were all the rage compared to the orange safety ones he had been eyeing. She had been against him getting obnoxious colored shorts due to it clashing with his already orange-reddish fur and hair. So he complied and bought them, he wanted her to stop with the judgmental stare. He wasn’t a weak bull! Hamish just didn’t like her popping her gum and raising a questionable eyebrow at him!
But! The sea air, salt water, and sun would be good for his health. Needing some time away from his clinic to just relax without worrying about any calls, walk-ins, or emergencies. Since there was a call on Moo that offered to watch it while he enjoyed his time off, he sighed and let go of that breath. Salt air with the roar of the ocean. It was going to be a lovely day, just needed to find a spot to settle in before going for a dip.
Swinging his head back and forth, he found a spot closer to where there were palm trees at the edge of the beach. He dug a deep hole for his umbrella to avoid it from being blown away and popping his chair under it. The cooler was in easy reach of his chair. A towel folded in the chair with his phone hidden under it. Hamish hoped everyone wouldn’t be seeking treasure in other Moos’ valuables as they enjoyed their time in the water.
Stretching and popping his back, he sat his sunglasses on top of his towel and headed towards the water. He did see some familiar faces as he stepped into the waves and swam out and under the water. Completely submerging himself before coming back up, he pushed his hair back to see he was still close to shore without being too far away from it. He floated on his back for a little bit before flipping back over and swimming back to shore.
Wringing out the water from his tail, he smiled when he saw Toro and greeted his friend with a hearty slap on the back. “There ya are you big bastard! I thought I heard ya visiting the beach with young lass.” Hamish searched the beach for her, seeing her bathing in the sunlight in a two piece, frilly bikini. Taking pictures here and there with her phone. “Yeah, Soda invited me to come with her. Figured I could take a vacation, but I am surprised to see you here Doc. The only time you leave is to go visit someone’s home or the convenience store for a microwave meal.” Toro chuckled as Hamish pushed him. “Shut it, ya dobber! I have a reputation to uphold to encourage healthy eatin’ to others! Besides, the upstairs of the clinic doesn’t have a full kitchen.”
“Want to settle it like we always do?” Toro ask, Hamish knew what he was referring to.
“Thought ya wouldn’t pick on the elderly.” Hamish taunted back, but got into a wide legged stance, lowering his head and showing him his horns. Toro swung into the same position and charged at him.
There was a clashing of horns and playful insults as Toro and Hamish headbutted and locked horns with each other. Hands on each other's shoulders as sand slid under their hooves. Using the strength in their arms and neck, they pushed each other. There was a crowd of Moos whistling and yelling, enjoying the fight between the friends until the sound of a whistle broke through the air.
“Alright, break it up, break it! There is no fighting on the beach!” Blue hands gripped each of their horns and pulled them away. Purple eyes glared at the two of them and let them go, “next time I see you break any more rules, I’ll find something you can use that energy towards.” It was the lifeguard he had passed when he walked on the beach. Apparently she took her job as seriously as he did his when he was on the clock.
“You got it bonnie, we’ll stop, just a tussle between two friends. No malice between the two of us.” Hamish comforted the lifeguard, but it didn’t work. “Just be sure it doesn’t happen again.” She sauntered back to her post, keeping an eye on the water. “Oh, Hamish got in trouble!” Toro childishly cooed at him as Hamish swatted at him. “Ya did too you bloody bastard!”
They didn’t realize how late it was until Soda came towards them and started to tug on Toro back to the resort, ready to head in since the sun had set. Moving to his spot, his lunch had been forgotten in the cooler as broke down his little spot on the beach and started walking back towards the resort to wash sand and seawater from his fur. Check to make sure Toro didn’t nick him like last time as well. He chuckled, feeling a bit younger and a little more rejuvenated.
While walking, he checked his phone to see the pet sitter had sent a picture of Rory being brushed and curled next to the sitter, enjoying the attention while the others slept. He sent a message back, telling him Rory may not want to go back home with how well he was treated with them.
Pulling his key out, he entered his room, setting his stuff down and locking the door. He wrapped a towel around his waist as he sat at the little table and chair, eating the food from the cooler for his dinner. He would dump the ice water out in the morning. He was ready to sleep when he got out, drying himself thoroughly. Pulling back the covers, turning the lights off, and settling under the blankets. He yawned and fell asleep, hearing the real waves roar in the background.
Hamish is enjoying the first day of his vacation.
