Growing up surrounded by beaches and a sunny climate Mako developed just as much of a positive and sunny personality. He loves swimming and leisure, but doesn't handle winter and cold very well. Since he's moved to Bovine Bluffs to perform and teach he had to get creative to survive the winter months. Usually he'll just cover himself in warm clothes, blankets and hot-water bottles but his favorite source of warmth is still someone else's body heat. 

He's a fire dancer and performer, borrowing from different island cultures to create his own, unique performances. He's exceptionally laid back and easy going. It's rare to witness him mad about something and while that mostly makes him very pleasant and relaxing company, it doesn't exactly make him the most reliable, as he's rarely worried about consequences. The type of person that would rather miss the last train and spend a night at the station than to worry about missing it.

The same applies to his love life, as he's not the type to form a monogamous relationship. A "free spirit" some might say. And while his affection is shown in a very casual way it is still genuine and rarely shallow. He's always open to connect with people on a deeper level, just not in a restrictive way.
Mako feels comfortable in any sexual role, as long as he clicks with his partner. Dominant, submissive, top or bottom... He genuinely enjoys it all and fills each position authentic to his personality. He's bad at catering to masochistic tastes though.
