Divine Research - Chic Bookworm

When Soda heard about an esteemed member of the community needing help with something, of course she took the first chance she could to venture out into the library and seek what seems to be very important to Vanessa; Information on their goddess Cybele. While Soda wasn't particularly religious she did have a spiritual streak and never questioned the existence of the goddess of fertility. What else could be affecting the Moos fertility after all? It seemed exciting to find out more about it herself. She might want to be a momma herself one day after all.

Soda decided to make this as fun to her as she possibly could and combed through her whole wardrobe, trying to find the right pieces for a cute outfit. The kind of look someone would expect from someone sitting in a library surrounded by books. A "chic bookworm" so to speak. It wasn't her usual style so it took some effort finding the right pieces. The first was an oversized sweater with a cute knit pattern in a light cream color. Looking for the right piece underneath proved a little harder, most of her skirts and dresses were either too frilly or too short, she liked her clothes to have some volume and create unique silhouettes. The ones that were more plain in shape usually had bright colors, but she wanted to go with more neutral tones this time. After lots of digging she managed to find a knee-length plaid skirt with subtle folds in a dark color she liked using for a school uniform outfit, usually.

To bring in more earthy tones she decided to style everything with brown leather accessories like a small backpack with golden metal accents and a golden charm on a leather cord as necklace. For her legs she went with cream colored tights and laced leather boots to match the other leathery accessories. Lastly she put her hair in a high ponytail with a brown scrunchie and put a little golden clip-on heart earring on her ear. She had to admit she didn't quite got it to look the way she wanted but she was pleased with it nonetheless and looking in the mirror she felt quite cute. Now the only thing left to do was actually going to the library and look at some books...

Getting ready took a lot longer than she anticipated and she already wasted half the time that was available to her. But she was determined to get some research done nonetheless! She arrived at the library full of motivation and energy but after a few books she already felt the frustration creeping up on her. As if it wasn't enough that reading wasn't exactly her favorite thing to do in her spare time, it also felt nearly impossible finding anything that even mentioned the goddess. Soda couldn't help but get distracted from time to time, she'd rather have made cute pictures of herself surrounded by books than open another one.

She had to remind herself why she was here though; not to be entertained, but to help. With a deep in- and exhale she pulled herself together and continued her search until the sun started to set. Eventually she just felt defeated and closed the last book with a discouraged sigh as she started to put the books back into the shelves. Soda left the library and went straight for the Greedy Cauldron to ask if Vanessa maybe made some progress on her own.

She did find the potion maker in her shop as she entered it with the familiar sound of the door's chime. Walking up to her counter she already had an apologetic smile on her face. “Hey Vanessa... I was wondering if you already had any luck with your research? I tried my best today at the library but I don't think I'm any good at it, I'm afraid”.
Vanessa gave her her usual alluring smile and leaned forward on her counter. “Don't worry about it... If it was easy I wouldn't have asked for help, would I? I might even have felt a little offended if you found out more in an afternoon in the public library than I did until now”. She winked at the other moo, which actually made Soda feel a bit better. “And looking at you at least you must've looked cute trying your best, thank you”.

Soda did go home with a smile on her face that day.
